Sick Day

Paul has a cold, Avery is coming down with one, and I'm trying to ignore the fact that I have the sniffles.

Nanas and Papas

We could not have survived the first few weeks of Adam's life without these two fabulous ladies:

On a side note, this little shirt Adam is wearing was his coming home outfit. I made it from a basic white kimono shirt and some brown ric-rac. It's my new fave craft.

Paul's mom came into town the Saturday before Adam was born. She took care of Avery and our crazy dog while were gone, and she brought Avery up to the hospital every day so she could see us. Cathy also helped us through the first week of surgery recovery (also known as Zombie Week), so I was able to concentrate on eating, sleeping and feeding my little boy.

Scott (Paul's dad) came into town the next week, as did my parents. Avery had a very exciting day hanging out with both sets of grandparents (at this point, she's decided to call them both Nana and Papa). We had to take a picture of this momentous occasion.

Both Papas and one Nana left, and my Mom ended up staying for another 3 weeks or so, picking up exactly where Cathy had left off; cooking, cleaning, walking the dog, doing laundry, etc.

Adam was five weeks old when we dropped my Mom off at the airport, packed up the kids and headed to Georgia to see Nana and Papa Judd again. We also were able to see Brian and Monica and the kids as well as Mark and Heather and their kids and Katie Beth. Mark and Heather had met our little guy when he was just a week old, as they came up to close on their house in Va Beach. You'll have to trust me that these events happened, because I took no pictures. I guess I was still in a bit of a fog.

Thanks, dear family for loving us and taking care of us during our first few weeks as a family of four.
